Fun Facts about Autumn's hometown, Lakeside, CA:
From 1859-1886, Lakeside was primarily a ranching town. In 1886, Lakeside became a town site and a tourist destination when the Lakeside Inn was built. From 1886-1920 the focus of the town changed from livestock ranching to fruit ranching and a resort town. From the 1920's to the 1950's the County's land boom effected Lakeside's development and the town turned into a more community based economy rather than a resort based town. Lakeside once had the most quarter horses per capita in the entire United States! Little old Lakeside (not so little anymore), right here in San Diego County. Not many people know that fact. It is one of those things you find out when you are proud of your home town, and want to continue to honor the people who helped make you who you are today.
